Pendampingan Pemanfaatan Limbah Dapur Menjadi Kompos dan Pupuk Organik Cair untuk TOGA di Desa Lise

Kitchen organic waste in Lise Village had not been systematically utilized, although family medicinal plants were already cultivated in some household yards and the village park offered potential for a public demonstration area. This community service program aimed to assist residents in converting kitchen waste into solid compost and composter leachate utilized as liquid organic fertilizer for family medicinal plants. The program was conducted from 1 July to 30 August 2026 and involved 27 village officials, community health cadres, Family Welfare Empowerment members, and residents. Activities included situation analysis, waste sorting, socialization, hands-on composting, initial leachate harvesting, application to medicinal plants, establishment of a village-park demonstration plot, and monitoring. One batch containing 4–6 kg of organic materials on a wet-weight basis produced 2.5–3 kg of compost showing field indicators of maturity after 30–45 days and 0.5–1 L of leachate, with the first leachate harvest on day 7. Diluted leachate was initially applied to 6 plants in a household demonstration yard and 30 plants in the village park, while mature compost was subsequently utilized as organic material for growing media and plant maintenance. Seven-day monitoring after initial leachate application recorded 30 surviving plants out of 36 (83.33%). Questionnaire and practice observations showed that approximately 90% of participants could repeat the main processing steps, while approximately 95% expressed willingness to continue the practice independently. The program established initial community capacity and a public demonstration area for household organic-waste utilization.
